Elon Musk, the billionaire behind Tesla and SpaceX, is not just building rockets. He is also raising a large family. Musk has 14 children with four different women, and his family has grown steadily over the past two decades.

Here is everything we know about Musk’s kids and their unique names.

Musk’s First Child: Nevada Alexander

Musk became a father in 2002 when his then-wife, Canadian author Justine Wilson, gave birth to their son, Nevada Alexander. Sadly, Nevada passed away at just 10 weeks old due to sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).

The loss devastated the couple and shaped Musk’s views on family and mortality.

Twins: Vivian and Griffin Musk

Determined to have more children, Musk and Wilson turned to in vitro fertilization (IVF). In 2004, they welcomed twins, Griffin and Vivian. While Griffin stays out of the public eye, Vivian, who was born as Xavier, changed her name and gender in 2022, distancing herself from Musk.

Exa Dark Sideræl and Techno Mechanicus Musk

In December 2021, Musk and Grimes welcomed their second child, a daughter named Exa Dark Sideræl, or simply “Y.” She was born via surrogate. In 2022, they secretly had a third child, Techno Mechanicus, whom they call “Tau.” Details about Tau remain private, reflecting Musk and Grimes’ approach to their children’s upbringing.

Arcadia Musk: Another Child With Shivon Zilis

In February 2024, Musk and Zilis had another child, a daughter named Arcadia. Like their previous children, Arcadia’s birth was kept private until reports surfaced later. Musk frequently talks about how involved he is in his children’s lives, despite his demanding career.

Seldon Lycurgus Musk: The Fourth Child With Zilis

In 2025, Zilis and Musk quietly welcomed their fourth child, a son named Seldon Lycurgus. The name aligns with Musk’s fascination with science fiction and futuristic themes. While he keeps most details about his younger children private, he often emphasizes that he wants them to contribute meaningfully to society.

Earlier this year, author and commentator Ashley St. Clair revealed that she had a child with Musk. She claimed their baby was born five months earlier, but Musk has not publicly commented on the announcement. If confirmed, this would be Musk’s 14th child, continuing his well-documented commitment to expanding his family.
