Mariah Carey Has Found a New Quarantine Hobby That Has Even Surprised Buddy Valastro

We all know that Mariah Carey is the queen of vocals, but with the social distancing rules, she has also transformed into somewhat of a dessert queen.

Quarantine is a great time to pick up a childhood hobby, learn a new skill, or brush up on old ones. For Carey, her perfect pass time at home is baking, and she seems to be getting quite good at it.

The 50-year-old hitmaker has been engaging more with her social media followers during quarantine, and in one of her latest posts, she even showed off her kitchen skills with a ‘surprise cake’. And what a surprise it was!

Fans were scrambling to figure out what the singer had in mind with her latest creation, and the end product was so unexpected that none of us saw it coming.

Last Saturday, Carey updated Twitter with a photo of herself in the kitchen, whipping up something special for the weekend. The photo was accompanied by a caption saying, ‘trying to make a surprise cake, let’s see how it turns out! 😀 :D’

While the photo of the singer with a whisk definitely surprised some, many were more interested in the layout of her kitchen as the photo showed a mysterious lounge chair behind her as she cooked. It seems quite odd to see living room furniture in the kitchen, doesn’t it?

Fans eagerly awaited an update from her after seeing her initial post, but it wasn’t until 12 hours later that she finally revealed the finished product, leaving many of us… um… shocked?

After slaving away in the kitchen for an entire day, a proud Maria reappeared on Twitter to show the picture of her masterpiece. Just by looking at the picture of the cake, fans couldn’t quite make out what it was but upon careful observation, it turns out that the creation was inspired by the highly praised Netflix show, Tiger King.

The singer admitted in the caption that her artistic skills were amateur at best, but in her defense, the cake tasted great. Many hailed Mariah as the queen of making and even celebrity chef Buddy Valastro of Cake Boss couldn’t help but applaud her efforts.

But Mariah is no stranger to the kitchen or cooking. During an interview with GQ magazine last year, the songstress said that she loved spending time in the kitchen with the family, and even her kids love the meals she prepares for them.
